What a 22 oz paper cup is for
The 22 oz is the largest cold cup in the range — 95 mm across, 165 mm tall. It shares its rim with the 20 oz, so one straw-slot lid covers both. This is the cup for a large iced coffee, a full soda with ice, a smoothie or a shared soft drink with a meal deal.
It is a cold-drink cup, coated on the inside to take condensation and finished on the outside to keep print sharp when the cup sweats. No sleeve is used, so every square millimetre of the wrap is available to the design. If the drink is thick — a smoothie or a shake — check the lid you order actually takes a wide straw.
Being the tallest cup here, it has the most generous panel of all, and the one where a photographic wrap or a full-bleed illustration genuinely pays. It is also the cup most likely to be carried down a street, so treat it as a moving poster rather than a container. Cinemas, fast food, festival bars and delivery-heavy kitchens are where the 22 oz sells in volume.
The stated volume is not the fill line. A 22 oz cup filled to the brim cannot take a lid, so the working capacity is lower than the number on the box — and with ice, noticeably lower again. If a menu promises a volume, check what the cup actually holds with a lid on and ice in it before printing that number anywhere.
