What a 22 oz ripple-wall cup is for
The largest cup in the range, 95 by 62 by 165 mm, with a fluted outer board on a 95 mm mouth. At this volume the cup is as much a vessel as a cup, and the flutes are there to make something that weighs most of a kilogram when full possible to hold comfortably.
It is the size used for blended and frozen drinks as much as for hot coffee, and that is where a ripple wall earns its cost twice: it insulates against cold as well as heat, and the fluted surface does not go slippery when condensation forms on the outside.
It is tall enough that a design can be read across a room, which makes it the cup most worth branding boldly. Keep the mark large, in the upper half, and let the base carry colour. Cinemas, drive-throughs, smoothie and shake bars, and festival catering.
One honest caveat. A two-board cup is harder to recycle than a single-wall one, because the layers have to be separated before the fibre can be recovered, and not every waste stream will do it. If the cup is part of an environmental claim, check what your local collection actually accepts before printing anything about it on the wall.
