What a 20 oz cup sleeve is for
A tapered band for the 20 oz cup, 85.76 mm narrowing to 67.94 mm, 81 mm tall. It steps up in diameter from the 12 and 16 oz sleeves because the cup does, so it is a separate line and will not grip a smaller cup.
At 20 ounces the sleeve is load-bearing in a way it is not on a small cup. A full large cup is heavy, and the band gives a hand a dry, slightly compressible surface to close on — which is as much about not dropping it as about not being burned.
Eighty-one millimetres by roughly 270 around is the largest print area of any sleeve here bar one, enough for a full illustrated wrap rather than a mark on a plain ground. Drive-throughs, motorway services, convenience chains and anywhere a large coffee is sold to go.
At this size an embossed sleeve becomes worth pricing. Pressing a texture into the band adds grip without adding a second board, and on a large cup that is the difference between a sleeve that helps and one that merely covers. It is a separate tooling cost, so it suits a design you intend to keep rather than a seasonal print. The other thing to check is where the hand actually closes on the band: on an 81 mm sleeve that is the lower half, so anything you want read should sit above it.
