What a 20 oz double-wall cup is for
Two flat boards separated by a sealed air gap, 95 by 62 by 150 mm. It is a large cup built to be held, with a flat outer wall so the print stays sharp at a size where there is a lot of print to keep sharp.
The rigidity is the argument at 20 ounces. A single-wall cup this tall filled with hot liquid will flex noticeably under a grip, and flex pushes the lid; a double wall holds its shape, which cuts spills in a car or on a train more than any lid change would.
It takes a 95 mm lid rather than the 90 mm that the 12 and 16 oz share, so treat it as a separate line in the order. The tall flat panel suits a full wrap. Transport catering, drive-throughs, cinemas and large-format coffee programmes.
The outer wall does not change the rim, so the lid range is the same as for the single-wall 20 oz — a 95 mm lid fits either. That is worth stating because it is the usual worry when changing cup construction: the cup gets wider at the waist, not at the mouth, so lids, lid stackers and lid dispensers are unaffected. What does change is what the cup sits in — a carrier or a car holder cut to a single-wall diameter may refuse it, so test that before ordering in quantity.
