What an ice-cream cone sleeve is for
A rolled paper cone that wraps a cone of ice cream — 48.4 mm across the mouth, 117.5 mm tall, with a 120 mm slant. Flat, the blank is not a rectangle at all: it is a sector of a circle, and the design has to be drawn on that arc.
That is the one thing worth understanding before designing it. A line that is straight on the flat blank curves once the cone is rolled, and type set along the arc stands upright on the finished cone. The editor shows both, so check the 3D view before approving anything with type in it.
Its job is to catch what melts and to keep a hand off the wafer, which in an ice-cream van or a beach kiosk is most of the service. Print it in one or two inks on the outer face — the part that is seen is the upper two thirds, above where the hand closes.
Two details decide whether the design works. The tip is a very small area and anything placed there is lost, so treat the bottom third as structure rather than surface; and the sleeve is rolled and joined down the slant, so a pattern has to meet itself along that line. Check both in the 3D view, which shows the rolled cone rather than the flat sector.
