Custom Bags
The bag is the last thing a customer touches on the way out and the first thing the street sees afterwards. It also spends the next ten minutes walking past other people’s windows. For a small food business that is cheaper advertising than anything you can buy.
Bag types and when each one works
- Bakery bags — flat or gusseted, with or without a clear window. The window sells the product, which is why most bakeries pay the small extra for it on pastries and cookies.
- Bread bags — tall and gusseted so a loaf stands upright without being forced in. Breathable paper keeps a crust from going soft, which a plastic bag will not do.
- Takeout bags with handles — twisted paper handles for weight, flat paper or die-cut handles for a cleaner look on lighter orders.
- Flat sandwich and counter bags — no handles, fast to fill, the cheapest format per unit.
Kraft or white?
Natural kraft is strong, cheap and reads as honest and low-key — the default for delis, sandwich shops and anything with a rustic brand. White SBS is smoother and makes full-colour printing and photography look sharp, so it suits patisseries, gift boxes and premium retail.
Either way the paper is food-contact safe and printed with food-safe inks, so bread, pastries and sandwiches can go straight in.
The grease question
This is where most bag orders go wrong. A plain kraft bag will darken and go translucent under a buttery croissant or a hot fried item, usually within minutes. If that is your product, you have two options: specify a greaseproof-lined bag, or line a standard bag with a sheet of printed greaseproof paper. The second is often cheaper and doubles as another branded surface.
Tell us what is actually going in the bag — dry, warm, greasy or frozen — and we will specify the paper rather than guessing.
Sizing
Bags are sized to your product and your load, not picked from a chart. Send the dimensions of what goes inside, or the containers you use, and we will work back from there. A bag that is slightly too big looks careless; one that is too small tears at the gusset.

There is no minimum order on bags, so you can run a small batch, see how it performs on the counter, then scale. Price depends on size, paper, handle type, number of print colours and quantity.
Every order starts with a print-ready proof, so you approve exactly what prints — no surprises on the pallet. Most orders are completed within 4 to 6 business days after approval, and shipping across the USA is free. What kinds of paper bags do you print?

Are printed paper bags safe for direct food contact?
Yes, when you choose a food-contact bag. For bakery items, bread, sandwiches and deli food we use food-contact-safe paper and food-safe inks. Tell us what goes inside — dry, warm, greasy or frozen — and we will specify the right paper and any coating it needs.
Will a paper bag hold greasy food without soaking through?
A plain kraft bag will darken with oily food. For pastries, fried items and buttered bread, choose a greaseproof-lined bag, or line a standard bag with our printed greaseproof paper. Say what you are serving when you request a quote and we will recommend the combination.
Can I get a window in the bag?
Yes. A window is popular for bakery and cookie bags because the customer sees the product. Note that a plastic window film changes how the bag is recycled, so if recyclability matters, ask us about window-free alternatives.

Are brown paper bags recyclable?
Plain, uncoated kraft bags are among the most widely recycled packaging there is. Printing with food-safe inks does not normally stop that. What does affect it is a plastic window, a greaseproof lining or heavy food residue, so choose those only where the job needs them.
Can I order bags that match my boxes and wrapping paper?
Yes, and most customers do. We print bags, boxes and wrapping papers from the same artwork so the whole order looks like one set. Send your logo once and we will apply it across the range.
