What a buckle-bottom tote bag is for
A small flared tote with die-cut arch handles and a snap closure, on a 100 by 100 by 120 mm base. The buckle bottom folds itself flat as the bag collapses and locks square when it is opened, so it ships flat and stands up in one movement.
The snap closure is what separates it from every other bag here: it shuts. That makes it a gift and retail bag rather than a carrier — a small purchase, a favour, a sample set, something that should not be visible on the way home.
It is small, so the design has to be, too. The flare means the front face is a trapezoid rather than a rectangle, and the arch handles take a bite out of the top of it. Centre the mark low and let the flare frame it. Boutiques, gift shops, weddings and events, and premium samples.
The snap is a fitted component, not part of the board. It is pressed in after printing, which adds a process and a cost per bag, and it means the bag is not a single clean material at the end of its life. For a gift or a boutique purchase that is usually an acceptable trade; for anything sold on an environmental promise it is worth deciding consciously rather than by default.
