What a french fries scoop box is for
The scoop box is flat-sided with a tongue arching up off the back panel. That tongue is the reason it exists: it gives the customer something to hold and the counter something to grip when the box is passed over, and it lifts the brand above the fries where it stays visible while the food goes down.
Design it as two zones. The tongue is the billboard — it is above the food line, it is the last thing to be covered and the first thing seen across a counter. The walls below it are working surfaces that will be half hidden and greasy within a minute, so keep detail out of them.
It sits between the flat carton and the deep box on cost and on how generous the portion looks. Fried chicken counters, loaded-fries menus and sharing portions suit it best, because the arch also makes the box easy to set down on a table without tipping.
The arch is worth checking against your storage. Flat-sided packs nest tightly and a scoop does not, so a thousand of these take noticeably more shelf than a thousand cartons — which is usually fine at a counter and a problem in a small kitchen. Ask for the flat-packed depth before committing to a quantity.
