What an 8 side seal pouch with a zipper is for
The eight-seal flat-bottom pouch, with a reclosable zipper running across the front and back panels under the top seal. It is the most complete flexible pack available: it stands square, prints on five faces, and recloses like a tub.
This is the specification most speciality coffee uses. The pouch holds its shape on a shelf whether it is full or half empty, which matters for a product bought every week and photographed on kitchen counters, and the zipper means the customer never decants it into something else.
Two constraints worth knowing before you size it: the width can never exceed the length, and the height can never be less than one and a half times the width. That keeps it standing rather than toppling. Coffee, loose tea, premium pet food and anything sold at a price where the pack is part of the product.
It is the most expensive pack here to set up, because both the eight seals and the zipper add process, and minimum quantities are correspondingly higher than for a flat pouch. That is a good reason to prove the design on a short run of a simpler pouch first — the same artwork, the same colours, a cheaper shape — and move to this one once the design is settled.
