What a hanging wedge box is for
A wedge in cross-section — a base, two walls leaning in over it and a short flat top — finished with a triangular header card that has a hang slot punched through all three of its leaves. It is a peg-display box: it hangs on a hook in a shop and stands on a shelf when it has to.
The header is the most valuable surface on the whole pack, because on a hook it is at eye height and the box below it is not. Put the brand and the product name there and treat the leaning walls as secondary. The slant also means artwork on the walls is seen from below, so keep type large.
One thing to know when specifying it: the third number is the slant of the wall, not the height, and it is raised to the width if you ask for less — a wall shorter than the base it leans over cannot close the wedge. Confectionery, small toys, cosmetics and gift retail are the usual users.
The hang slot goes through three leaves of board at once, so the header is a triple thickness at that point. Only the outer leaf is seen, which means you only pay to print one of them — but the punch has to clear your artwork on that leaf, and a logo centred on the header will have a hole through it. Set the mark below the slot and check it in the 3D view before ordering.
